Dog Boarding in Lincoln, AR

Welcome to Smithers Animal Hospital-Lincoln, where your dog stays with a caring team under veterinary supervision, so you can enjoy your time away knowing they’re in good hands.

Understanding Dog Boarding

Leaving your dog behind when you travel is never easy. You want to know they’re safe, well cared for, and getting the attention they’re used to at home. Boarding at an animal hospital adds something many kennels can’t: a team that watches each dog’s health throughout their stay.

Our dogs stay in indoor, climate-controlled boarding kennels, in an area separate from our feline guests, so everyone has a calmer, more pleasant stay. Our kennels can support large dogs as well as small dogs. Our staff members spend lots of quality time with each dog, and we take dogs on walks in our large fenced yard three times a day.

If anything seems off during your dog’s stay, our veterinarian will be alerted, which gives many pet parents real peace of mind.

What to Expect During Your Dog’s Stay

Here’s how we take care of your dog from drop-off to pickup:

Comforts From Home

You’re welcome to bring along beds, blankets, and treats to help your dog feel more at home, although we have everything they will need on hand.

Meals and Medications

A sudden change in diet can upset your dog’s stomach, so we provide all guests with Purina EN, a nutritionally balanced food for sensitive stomachs, unless you bring your dog’s own food from home. We also administer medications and special diets when needed.

Daily Health Checks and Exercise

Our staff monitors each dog’s appetite and urination and bowel movements, and our veterinarian will be alerted if any problems are noted. Dogs get walks in our large fenced yard three times a day, plus plenty of quality time with our staff.

Going Home Fresh

After an extended stay, we recommend a bath so your dog goes home fresh and clean. Ask about our bathing and grooming add-ons when you make your reservation.

Canine Boarding: Frequently Asked Questions

What does my dog need before boarding?

All boarders are required to be up to date on their shots and parasite free. If you’re not sure whether your dog’s vaccines are current, give us a call before their stay and we’ll help you check. Please also bring any medications your dog takes, along with instructions for giving them.

Can I bring my dog’s own food and bedding?

Yes. You’re welcome to bring beds, blankets, and treats to help your dog feel at home, though we have everything they need on hand. If you don’t bring food, we provide Purina EN, a nutritionally balanced food for sensitive stomachs, to help avoid the digestive upset a sudden diet change can cause.

How much exercise will my dog get?

Our staff takes dogs on walks in our large fenced yard three times a day. Between walks, our caring team spends lots of quality time with each dog. Our kennels are indoors and climate controlled, and they can support large dogs as well as small dogs.

What if my dog takes medication or gets sick while boarding?

We administer medications and special diets when needed. Our staff monitors each dog’s appetite and urination and bowel movements throughout their stay, and our veterinarian will be alerted if any problems are noted. That veterinary supervision is one of the biggest benefits of boarding with us.

How do I make a dog boarding reservation and what are your hours?

Call us at (479) 824-3299 or visit us at 2157 E Pridemore Dr. in Lincoln. We recommend booking in advance, especially during the holidays and peak vacation times. Dogs may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours: Monday through Thursday 7:30am–5:30pm and Friday 7:30am–5:00pm.
