Cat Boarding in Lincoln, AR

Welcome to Smithers Animal Hospital-Lincoln, where your cat stays with a caring team under veterinary supervision for a healthy, happy, comfortable stay while you’re away.

Understanding Cat Boarding

Cats are creatures of habit, and a change in routine can be stressful for them. When you need to travel, it helps to know your cat is somewhere quiet, comfortable, and safe.

Our feline guests stay in indoor, climate-controlled boarding in an area separate from our dogs, so cats can relax away from barking and busy kennels. Each boarding cat gets its own kitty condo with a perch ledge, giving them a cozy spot to rest and a little height to watch the world from, which many cats love.

Because our boarding is part of an animal hospital, our team keeps a close eye on each cat’s health. Cats often hide when they don’t feel well, so having trained staff watching for small changes makes a real difference.

What to Expect During Your Cat’s Stay

Here’s how we look after your cat from drop-off to pickup:

A Space of Their Own

Every cat gets a private kitty condo with a perch ledge in our cat boarding area, separate from the dogs. You’re welcome to bring along a bed, blanket, or treats to help your cat feel more at home, although we have everything they will need on hand.

Meals and Medications

A sudden change in diet can cause digestive upset, so we provide all guests with Purina EN, a nutritionally balanced food for sensitive stomachs, unless you bring your cat’s own food from home. We also administer medications and special diets when needed.

Daily Health Checks

Our staff monitors each cat’s appetite and urination and bowel movements, and our veterinarian will be alerted if any problems are noted.

Going Home Fresh

If you’d like, we can also bathe your cat or trim their nails before pickup. Ask about our bathing and grooming add-ons when you book.

Feline Boarding: Frequently Asked Questions

Are cats boarded separately from dogs?

Yes. Dogs and cats board in separate areas so all of our guests have a pleasant, stress-free stay. Each boarding cat gets its own kitty condo with a perch ledge, giving them a cozy, private space to rest and a higher spot to perch on, which many cats find comforting.

What does my cat need before boarding?

All boarders are required to be up to date on their shots and parasite free. If you’re not sure whether your cat’s vaccines are current, give us a call and we’ll help you check before their stay. Please bring any medications your cat takes, along with instructions, and bring your cat in a secure carrier.

Can my cat eat their usual food while boarding?

Yes, you’re welcome to bring your cat’s own food from home. If you don’t, we provide Purina EN, a nutritionally balanced food for sensitive stomachs, since a sudden change in diet can cause digestive upset. We also administer medications and special diets when needed.

What if my cat stops eating while boarding?

Some cats eat less for the first day or two in a new place. Our staff monitors each cat’s appetite and urination and bowel movements throughout their stay. Our veterinarian will be alerted if any problems are noted, so changes are caught early rather than missed.

How do I make a cat boarding reservation and what are your hours?

Call us at (479) 824-3299 or visit us at 2157 E Pridemore Dr. in Lincoln. We recommend booking in advance, especially during the holidays and peak vacation times. Cats may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours: Monday through Thursday 7:30am–5:30pm and Friday 7:30am–5:00pm.
