Large Animal
Farm Calls in Lincoln, AR
Welcome to Smithers Animal Hospital-Lincoln. We offer large animal ambulatory services by appointment only for owners in Lincoln, Prairie Grove, Farmington, Summers, and beyond. We are happy to come to you.
Understanding Farm Calls
Loading a horse into a trailer or hauling a group of cattle to the clinic isn’t always practical. Some animals travel poorly, some are too sick or sore to move safely, and sometimes there are simply too many to bring in. A farm call brings veterinary care to your property, where your animals are calm and in familiar surroundings.
On our farm calls, we perform routine preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of sick animals, along with a variety of limited veterinary medical and surgical procedures.
Farm calls can save you time and stress, make it easier to see several animals in one visit, and let your veterinarian see the conditions your animals live in every day.
What to Expect When We Come to You
A little planning helps every farm call go smoothly and safely. Here’s what to expect:
Scheduling Your Visit
Farm calls are by appointment only. When you call, tell us how many animals need to be seen, the species and what you need, so we can plan the right amount of time and bring what we need.
Getting Ready
Visits go more smoothly when animals are caught up and confined before we arrive, such as in a stall, pen, chute or small paddock. A safe, level place to work, good footing and someone who can help handle the animals all make the visit quicker and safer for everyone.
During the Visit
Depending on your needs, your veterinarian may perform exams, preventive care such as vaccines, diagnosis and treatment of sick animals, or limited medical and surgical procedures.
When the Clinic Is Better
Some services and tests are better suited to our on-site large animal facility, and we will let you know if that is the case.
Why Choose Smithers Animal Hospital-Lincoln for Farm Calls

What areas do your farm calls cover?
